Dining Options at the San Diego Ballpark
Ballpark food is no longer the boring peanuts and crackerjacks. While these offerings are still available, along with all-American classics such as hot dogs, nachos, soda and beer, ballpark food is becoming more diversified, catering to the tastes of each and every visitor in the stands. For Petco Park fans, the food options are endless, offering everything from regular concession stands to first class dining on the ballpark’s balcony terrace.
The largest amount and variety of food options are located on the lower level, indicated by section numbers in the 100s. The Mercado, a convenient one-stop food plaza, features eateries such as Anthony’s Fish Grotto, Rubio’s, Ruby’s and Oggi’s. Other dining options are located in areas throughout the lower section. Some of the most popular eateries include: Filippi’s Pizza, Diego Dogs, The K Street Grill, Randy Jones BBQ, and the Bay View Grill. For fans with dietary restrictions, check out the Friar Fit as well as a gluten free stand featuring hotdogs and burgers on gluten free bread. Besides soda, there is a wine cart, Mexican Cantina and many locations to get beer.
Restaurants at Petco Park
Petco Park visitors who want more of a sit-down restaurant at Petco Park should head up to the second level, called Toyota Terrace. On Toyota Terrace there are six casual dining restaurants at Petco Park, including those inside the Western Metal Supply Building. In Section 205, there are the PCL Bar and Grill, serving traditional bar food and the Baja Bistro offering guests Mexican fare. On the other side of Toyota Terrace is Westwinds which serves Japanese entrees, including sushi. Access to this restaurant is usually limited due to its popularity and small size. Close to Westwinds is Club 19, one of Petco Park’s high-end dining options. Only visitors with a Toyota Terrace ticket can be admitted into the restaurant.
On the west side of Toyota Terrace is the entrance to the restaurants located inside the Western Metal Supply Building. The most popular Petco Park restaurant in the building is the Hall of Fame Bar and Grill. This restaurant serves the basic sports bar food, and offers diners indoor and outdoor dining options. Visitors who wish to eat on the private balcony of the Western Metal Supply must make reservations first for either the first half of the ballgame or the second half.
Another popular Western Metal Supply Building restaurant is the Brickhouse Deli and its large assortment of international beers. Other restaurants at Petco Park can be found inside the Western Metal Supply Building, as well as a small food court featuring a handful of carts with differing options.
