4th Annual San Diego Father’s Day Fest and Walk
On Saturday, June 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this popular free event will be held at the UTC Westfield Mall to celebrate and give thanks to fathers, whether civilian or military. Tour this 155-acre complex, which is dedicated to the development and performance of America’s future Olympic and Paralympic athletes. The large facility houses 4 soccer fields, 6 sand volleyball courts, 3 BMX tracks and has areas dedicated to almost every Olympic sport imaginable.
Scripps Institution of Oceanography
Free public outdoor walking tours will be given on Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. as well as on the second and fourth Fridays of every month. Visit historic buildings and walk on the 1,090-foot-long working research Scripps Pier of one of the world’s most prestigious marine and earth sciences research institutions. Balboa Park and Museums
This is the largest urban cultural park in America and has some of San Diego’s top attractions such as: the San Diego Zoo, an IMAX Theater, multiple botanical gardens and 17 museums. There is free Tuesday admission on a rotating basis, free guided tours on Fridays at 1:00 p.m., and a free organ concert at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion on Sundays.
